Kaplan University is comprised of an online school and several campus locations that aim to make higher education accessible for nontraditional students who need to manage flexible schedules. Kaplan utilizes many technology programs to help students feel connected despite the fact that they aren’t learning in a typical classroom.

Kaplan University has a well-known reputation for providing educational and career resources to all types of students.
Kaplan University Online has collaborated with the UAH Salmon Library at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, AL, to offer students access to books, manuscripts, government documents and more resources.
Kaplan University offers many different degree programs at the Associate’s, certificate, Bachelor, Masters, diploma and JD levels.


Students will not get a traditional college experience with in-person class discussions, athletic teams or dorm living at Kaplan University Online.
Some students who need more teacher-student interaction may find it difficult to become involved in class if they can’t meet with classmates and professors in person.
Students attending on-campus classes may feel disconnected from the greater Kaplan community, since there isn’t a central location and students are spread out all over the world.

Argosy University has campuses in several locations around the United States including Arizona, California, Georgia, Florida, Texas, Washington, and more. The university is the result of the merging of the American Schools of Professional Psychology, the University of Sarasota, and the Medical Institute of Minnesota. Argosy University is a for-profit college.

Argosy University Online Programs

Argosy University has a separate online program that provides students with the flexibility to take completely online courses that fit into their busy schedules. The online program offers four Bachelor Degrees in the areas of Psychology, Business, Liberal Arts, and Criminal Justice. The university also offers 10 Master's Degrees in Management, Public Administration, Forensic Pathology, Business Administration, and other subjects. Six Doctoral Programs are available as well.

Argosy University Online Accreditation

Argosy University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission as well as being a member of the North Central Association. It is a regionally accredited school. Many of the Doctoral Programs are accredited by the American Psychological Association.

Argosy University Online Tuition & Financial Aid

The tuition at Argosy is charged per credit hour. The rate for undergraduate programs is $510 per hour and thus $6120 per 12 hour semester. The Master Programs are $625 per hour and $7500 per semester with the Education and Public Administration Master Programs costing slightly less. Doctoral Program costs are $827 per hour and $9924 per semester. There is a doctoral residency fee of $1,100 in addition to tuition. Argosy University is accredited and as such it is eligible to receive federal financial aid funds. Students applying for PLUS or Stafford loans or Pell Grants must fill out a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) before applying. The school is approved for some Veterans Administration benefits and students who believe they may qualify for these benefits must seek the proper forms from the financial aid department.

South University - Online Program Review

South University is an older institution, established in 1899. It has seven campus locations and offers full programs online as well. However, these programs are limited in comparison. While obtaining an online degree from South University, students will receive the same instruction and assignments as those attending a brick and mortar campus.

ONLINE PROGRAMS AND DEGREES OFFERED

South University has an array of Bachelors and Masters degree online, as well as a few selected Associates Degrees. In Masters degrees they offer: Business Administration (MBA), Criminal Justice, Healthcare Administration, Information Systems and Technology, Leadership, Nursing, and Public Administration. In Bachelors degree they offer the following programs: Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Healthcare Management, Information Technology, Psychology, Health Science, and Nursing (RN to BSN). The Associates degrees they offer are Accounting, Business Administration, Health Science and Information Technology. They also offer an Associate in Paralegal, however this is only partially online and does require some campus attendance.

ACCREDITATION

South University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Associated of Colleges and Schools.

TUTION AND FINANCIAL AID

For a Bachelor Degree in Nursing, the cost is $352 per credit hour. For the rest of the Bachelor programs the cost is $361 per credit hour. For Masters degree the price depends on what program you choose. Nursing will cost $364 – $373 per credit hour depending on whether you choose the RN to MSN Degree or not. A Business Administration in Healthcare, Business Administration, Information Systems and Technology, Leadership, and Public Administration will cost $503 per credit hour. The Criminal Justice program will cost $476 per credit hour. Financial aid is available through information collected after completion of the FASFA. STUDENT SATISFACTION AND COMPLAINTS Most students talk highly of South University. They comment on how knowledge professors are, as well as how helpful and encouraging the staff is. A few complaints against the university was the speed at which classes go, however South University is a fast paced online college. There has also been a few complaints on tuition and how a few students felt overcharged. Though all in all students seem to have a very positive outlook on this school.
