4,000 bras began flapping in the breeze, Wednesday, on Hot Metal Bridge, Pittsburgh, high above the Monongahela, in support of breast cancer awareness.
The 'Bras Across The Bridge' is hosted by American Eagle's Aerie, in connection with the Bright Pink nonprofit group that promotes early detection of breast and ovarian cancer in young women.
The bras will hang on the bridge for a few weeks in recognition of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October. After the campaign ends, the bras will be washed and donated. One dollar from every bra sold in Aerie stores through October -- up to a maximum of $50,000 -- will go toward Bright Pink.
